This 8-day Tanzania safari brings together Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti in one well-planned route. The journey begins around Arusha before heading to Tarangire, where large elephant herds, baobab trees and river habitats create excellent wildlife viewing. You then continue to the Ngorongoro region and explore the crater, where wildlife gathers across grasslands, wetlands and forest areas. The final part of the journey takes you into Serengeti, known for its open plains and strong predator sightings.

The safari offers a good mix of game drives, scenic landscapes and comfortable lodge stays. Along the way, you travel through the Rift Valley, visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and have the option to stop at Olduvai Gorge. The return flight from Serengeti to Arusha adds a convenient finish to the journey.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kilimanjaro and Transfer to Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you are met by our representative and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. The drive gives you an early introduction to the landscapes around Mount Meru and northern Tanzania.
After check-in, spend the rest of the day at leisure. Relax at the lodge, enjoy dinner and prepare for the safari ahead.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive towards Tarangire National Park for your first wildlife experience. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and varied habitats around the Tarangire River.
Arrive in the park and begin your afternoon game drive. Look for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions and different antelope species as you explore the park. Continue to your lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.

Day 3

Full-Day Safari in Tarangire

Spend the full day exploring Tarangire with morning and afternoon game drives. The park offers a mix of river valleys, woodland, open grassland and seasonal water sources that attract wildlife throughout the year.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your safari. You may encounter elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, kudu, oryx and a wide variety of birds. Return to the lodge in the evening and enjoy dinner overlooking the surrounding landscape.

Day 4

Transfer to Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast, leave Tarangire and drive towards the Ngorongoro region. The route passes through the Lake Manyara area before climbing the Rift Valley escarpment towards the highlands.
Arrive at your lodge near Karatu and check in. Spend the afternoon at leisure, with time to relax, enjoy the surrounding views or take part in activities offered by the lodge.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

After an early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater floor contains grasslands, wetlands, woodland and other habitats that support a high concentration of wildlife.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater while surrounded by the natural landscape. Continue your game drive in search of elephants, lions, buffalo, hippos and rhinos before ascending from the crater and returning to your lodge.

Day 6

Ngorongoro to Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge

After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Serengeti National Park. The route passes through scenic highlands and Maasai-inhabited areas before reaching the Serengeti plains.
En route, you can stop at Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site linked to the study of early human history. Continue towards Naabi Gate and enter Serengeti for your first game drive before reaching your lodge or camp.

Day 7

Full-Day Safari in Serengeti

Spend the full day exploring Serengeti with game drives across its open plains, rocky kopjes and woodland areas. The park supports large populations of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and many herbivore species.
Depending on the season and location of the herds, you may also see part of the Great Migration. Your guide will select suitable areas for wildlife viewing before returning to the lodge or camp in the evening.

Day 8

Morning Safari and Flight to Arusha

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Serengeti. This final safari gives you another opportunity to see wildlife before leaving the park.
After the game drive, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Arusha. Enjoy aerial views of the Serengeti and surrounding landscapes before arriving in Arusha. You are then transferred onward for your departure.
