Begin in Arusha National Park, where forest, lakes, open grasslands, and views of Mount Meru create a varied setting for game drives and walking safaris. Continue into the Ngorongoro region for a full-day crater safari and concentrated wildlife viewing.

The journey then continues through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area into the Serengeti, where wide open plains provide excellent opportunities to search for predators and large herds. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arusha National Park - Arrival and First Safari

Arrive in Arusha and begin your journey towards Arusha National Park, located at the base of Mount Meru. The park combines forest, lakes, open grassland, and scenic mountain views. Enjoy a game drive through the park and look for giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, colobus monkeys, and different bird species. After exploring the park, continue to your lodge in Arusha. Spend the evening relaxing after your first day of wildlife viewing before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Arusha National Park - Walking Safari and Game Drive

After breakfast, return to Arusha National Park for another day of wildlife exploration. Begin with a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger, allowing you to experience the park's landscape from a closer perspective and learn about its plants, tracks, smaller wildlife, and birdlife. Continue with a game drive through different parts of the park. The varied habitats provide changing scenery and opportunities to see wildlife. Later, return to your lodge in Arusha for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 3

Arusha to Ngorongoro Highlands - Scenic Transfer

After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel towards the Ngorongoro region. The journey takes you through changing landscapes, including Rift Valley scenery, highland areas, and local communities along the route. On arrival near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, check in at your lodge and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Enjoy the cooler highland surroundings and views before dinner and an overnight stay near the crater.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater - Full Day Safari

Start early and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater floor supports a high concentration of wildlife within a compact area, creating excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing throughout the day.
Look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and other species. The crater is also one of the places where you may have an opportunity to see the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing the safari and returning to your lodge by evening.

Day 5

Ngorongoro to Serengeti - Transfer and Safari

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The route takes you through highland scenery before opening into the wide grasslands of the Serengeti.
As you enter the park, begin your wildlife viewing along the way. Depending on the day's route and wildlife activity, enjoy a game drive in the central Serengeti before continuing to your lodge or camp. Relax in the evening and enjoy dinner surrounded by the natural landscape.

Day 6

Serengeti - Full Day Game Drive

Day 7

Serengeti to Arusha - Return

After the safari, return to Arusha by road or optional flight. Enjoy the changing scenery during the journey before arriving in Arusha. You will be dropped at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your Tanzania safari.
